HydeParkOne of London’s grandest hotels, the Hyde Park, now under the management of the Mandarin Oriental Group, reigns supreme after a multimillion dollar renovation.

For over a century it has stood in Knightsbridge, almost across from Harrods, in London’s finest shopping district and within easy reach of the capital’s business, financial and entertainment districts. Long a favorite of the international elite and the royal family, Hyde Park has the unique ambiance and charm of days past with the uncompromising level of service demanded today. It was very unfortunate that under the Trusthouse Forte management, the property was allowed to start a slow descent to decay. But Mandarin’s complete, top to bottom, renovation has revitalized the property and brought it back to the high level of service and environment that fulfills the needs of very demanding guests.

The spacious rooms and suites, originally built in an era when space was no object, have been exquisitely redecorated and furnished with respect for its past but also providing the comfort, warmth and advanced technology required of a modern super-luxury establishment.

HydeParkAppetizerThe public spaces have been restored to their original beauty and elegance. The new restaurant, Foliage, inspired by the views of Hyde Park, serves modern European cuisine with fresh seasonal ingredients. Cafe on the Park, is an informal setting for all day international dining. The Mandarin Bar, has become the epicenter of Knightsbridge nightlife and the Cigar Divan provides a selection of Cohibas, Upmanns, Romeo y Julietas and other premium cigars to aficionados.

A state-of-the-art gymnasium and The Spa, where East-meets-West in a harmonious Royal Guardhaven of tranquility, complete the facilities available to revitalize the guest’s body and spirit.

But, on a Sunday morning, having traditional English breakfast on the balcony overlooking the park, while the Royal Guard on horseback passes by on the way to and from Buckingham Palace; that’s what makes this hotel unforgettable and a desirable London stopover when in Europe and away from home.
