DelamarExterior1Greenwich, Connecticut is synonymous with luxury, and the new Delamar Greenwich Harbor is a welcomed neighbor. The Delamar, which opened in November of 2002, is a 4-story, 74-room, and 9-suite luxury hotel. Situated on Long Island Sound, the hotel has fabulous harbor views, and is minutes away from world-class boutique shopping. It is also conveniently located to the Metro-North railway with less than a 50-minute commute time to New York City.

The Delamar Greenwich Harbor distinguishes itself on its service, and it is readily apparent, from the professional and courteous doorman, to complimentary valet parking. The General Manager, Mr. Klaus Peters, sets the standard for service, with the elimination of tipping. Instead, there is a $15 per day service fee, to cover all services during the guests’ stay.

Upon entering the Mediterranean-style marble lobby, you are greeted by a professional Front Desk Staff. Check-in is very discrete with a Front Desk Staff member escorting guests to their rooms, eliminating the announcement of room numbers to other guests. Luggage is whisked away by a Bellman in its own elevator.

Delamar, LibraryJust off the lobby, there is a charming and welcoming Library with a gas fireplace to create just the right ambiance for a cold winter’s night. Guests are welcome to enjoy an espresso, cappuccino, coffee or a cup of tea at the touch of a button. There are comfortable leather chairs and a sofa, which are perfect for reading the newspaper, a magazine or a good book.

The Delamar Greenwich Harbor appreciates guests comfort, which is reflected in the guestrooms, which have Sealy pillow-top beds, with down pillows and comforters, and sumptuous Filidora linens from Italy. Marble bathrooms boast Frette towels and robes. The bathrooms have tub/shower combinations. There are flowers in all bathrooms. The rooms have a luxurious residential feel. There is a Sony 27” flat-screen television, Sony CD player, and a DVD player in guestrooms. DVDs are available to rent at the Front Desk. The Delamar prides itself on detail for the unusual, and the mini-bar is no exception: there is a miniature Martini Bar, which is just right for sipping a nightly cocktail. For the business traveler, there is a laptop T-1 line for the Internet, with an easy access power-supply conveniently located on the desk, which is complimented by stationery and pads. There are 3 phones, 1 of which is a cordless phone, perfect for conducting business while sitting at a table on the balcony of the Harbor Side rooms. Town Side rooms, although they do not have balconies, have fully operable windows. For safety and convenience, there is a safe in the closet, large enough to hold a laptop computer. Room rates for Harbor Side rooms range from $385, Town Side rooms range from $335.
